PRCIL, Cell Phones for Soldiers seek cell phone donations

PALESTINE, July 27, 2014— More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families.  Cell Phones for Soldiers and Palestine Resource Center (PRCIL) are calling on all Americans to support our brave men and women by donating their unused cell phones.  The Cell Phones for Soldiers project wants to help keep troops connected with their families; their goal is to provide every U.S. soldier with a way to call home for free.

The phones are sent to ReCellular and recycled for cash. ReCellular pays Cell Phones for Soldiers enough for each donated phone to provide an hour of talk time for our soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Palestine area residents can support the collection drive by dropping off phones (Monday through Thursday) at PRCIL, 421 Avenue A, Palestine, Texas.  For more information, contact PRCIL at 903-729-7505.
