Police seek assistance locating Union Pacific theft suspect

PALESTINE, January 28, 2013— The Palestine Police Department has been working on a series of thefts from the Union Pacific Rail Yard. There has been at least four incident of theft over the past month. The Palestine Police Department has been working with officials from Union Pacific and members of the Union Pacific Railroad Police Division.

On more than one occasion, suspects entered onto railroad property and took copper welding leads and other copper wire. On another occasion, suspects took two welding machines. The investigation into the theft of the welding machines is still under investigation.

On January 8, Roshaunda Brown was arrested for her involvement in the copper thefts. Brown is being held in the Anderson County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

On January 15, Police served an arrest warrant for Latimer Baker. The warrant for Baker was in reference to his involvement in the theft and sale of railroad property. Baker is being held in the Anderson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Police are still looking for Justin Ellis. Ellis is also wanted for his involvement in the theft of copper from Union Pacific Railroad yard.

There is an ongoing investigation into the thefts from Union Pacific Railroad. The police are asking that anyone who knows the whereabouts of Justin Ellis please call the Palestine Police Department at 903-729-2254 or Crime Stoppers at 903-729-TIPS (8477).
