Police investigate robbery of individual at Taqueria Guerrero

TYLER, October 7, 2013-- On October 4, at approximately 9:21 p.m., Tyler Police Department Officers responded to a robbery of an individual at Taqueria Guerrero, 2021 E. Gentry, in Tyler.

Upon their arrival, the owner of the restaurant stated she was walking to her vehicle and was approached by a male wearing all black clothing. The male displayed a black handgun and took the victim’s purse. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, possibly running northbound on Old Gladewater Hwy. An undetermined amount of money was taken and the victim was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect was wearing all black clothing and also had what appeared to be a black cloth covering his face. He is approximately 5’8’’, and had a stocky build. There is no further information regarding this case.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crime Stoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833).  Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
