Police investigate gas station robbery

PALESTINE, OCTOBER 27, 2017 -- Palestine police are on the lookout for an armed suspect who robbed a local gas station overnight. 

At 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24,  officers were flagged down by the  staff of the Local Mini Mart gas station, 321 W. Palestine Ave.  While the staff was seeking help from the police, the suspect fled northbound across the parking lot into a residential area. He fled after he saw the marked police car.  The area was searched by responding backup units, but the suspect was not located.  

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a white or gray skull mask. The suspect had what appeared to be duct tape around both of his hands as well as both of his shoes. The suspect was armed with a black handgun.
