Police arrest suspect in Tyler Sonic Robbery of Individual case

TYLER, August 26, 2013-- On August 25, at approximately 10:53 p.m., Tyler Police Officers responded to a Robbery of an Individual at the Sonic, 102 Loop 323 N NW, in Tyler.

Employees reported that an unarmed, white male, wearing a mask entered the business demanding to know who the owner of a vehicle in the parking lot was. The vehicle belonged to an employee, and the suspect confronted the employee, demanding the keys for the vehicle.

When the employee hesitated to give up his keys, the suspect struck him in the face. The suspect was able to retrieve the keys to the vehicle and left, westbound on Hwy 64 W., in the victim’s vehicle. The victim only sustained a minor injury due to being struck in the face.

The suspect was described as being about 5’8’’ tall, approximately 230 lbs, and possibly had blond hair with blue eyes. He was wearing a white shirt and black shorts.

The stolen vehicle was a gray 2004 Volkswagen Jetta with black rims, Texas license plate #BB4B598.

On August 26, the suspect in this case was captured while in possession of the stolen vehicle.

At approximately 12:44 a.m., Officers observed the stolen Volkswagen Jetta pulling into the Food Fast, located at 5120 Old Jacksonville Hwy, in Tyler. The suspect, who was identified as Paul Brant Fowler, age 38, of Tyler, was taken into custody without incident.

Paul Brant Fowler was booked into the Smith County Jail for Robbery of Individual.
