TYLER, April 4, 2014-- Spring is here and so are the Peeps! To celebrate, Tyler Public Library is having a Peeps contest. Contestants will construct a diorama using primarily Peeps. The diorama must use a favorite book as its theme. Categories will include Youth- grades five and below, Youth- grades 6-12, and Adults.
The Library will accept completed dioramas April 1-April 12. The dioramas will be on display during National Library Week, April 13-19. Winners will be notified Tuesday, April 22.
“The Peeps dioramas combine a sense of spring with the joy of reading,” said Reference Librarian Lori Fregoso.
This contest is free and open to Library cardholders of all ages. If you don’t have a library card, it is free and easy to obtain. For more information on obtaining a Library card go to the “I Want To” menu on www.TylerLibrary.com.
Entries must be accompanied by an official entry form that can be picked up at the Library’s Information Desk, 201 S. College Ave. or downloaded from www.TylerLibrary.com.
Library staff will judge entries based on originality, overall appearance, use of Peeps and difficulty of design in the three age categories. There will also be a People’s Choice Winner for the diorama that receives the most votes from the public during the display period.
