PALESTINE, April 19, 2017—Remembering a famous country music star is the goal with the Palestine Community Theater’s upcoming play “Always Patsy Cline.”
PCT is bringing the play from Teague with help from the Trinity Star Arts Council.
The play focuses on the relationship between Patsy Cline and life-long friend Louis Seger, from Houston. Actor John Lamb describes the friendship as tight-knit until a tragic plane took Cline’s life and ended the pen pal relationship.
Lamb said the two female actors playing Patsy and Louis work well together to bring the vibrant story to life.
“The woman playing Patsy Cline is phenomenal. You close your eyes and she sounds just like her,” Lamb commented.
For music, live professional musicians and backup male singers will add to the production.
“It’s really just an excuse to sing a bunch of Patsy Cline songs. It’s the kind of fun I think Palestine will embrace. Good wholesome country fun,” Lamb added.
The play will run for two nights only at 7:30 p.m. April 20 and April 21 at the Texas Theatre. The normal opening night reception will be held on Friday for this show.
