Park survey asks residents to help envision future

LONGVIEW, July 22, 2014--Longview residents are encouraged to take a moment to share their thoughts and ideas about the future of parks in Longview. As part of the Longview Comprehensive Plan, the City of Longview is updating the 5-year Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan. Residents can give their input by completing a survey at Parks.LongviewTexas.gov.

According to Director of Community Services Laura Hill, “This Master Plan is very important to our staff members, park board members, and city council because it informs us of citizen’s priorities. For instance, over the last several years, we have seen a major improvement to our walking trails, which was a direct result of residents telling us those were a top priority.”

The survey deadline is Thursday, July 31, 2014. The results will be incorporated into the Longview Comprehensive Plan, which is a long-term planning process that will serve as our city’s roadmap to the future on issues such as transportation, parks, public safety, development, and much more.
