Palestine Police still searching for Kwik Stop robbery suspect

PALESTINE, September 16, 2013--On September 15, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Palestine Police responded to a 911 call at the Kwik Stop # 1 located at 3804 W. Oak Street. Police arrived on scene within minutes of the call. Officers were advised that a subject had entered the store armed with a handgun and committed a robbery.  The man was able to get away with an undetermined amount of money.

At the time of the incident there was a single employee on duty inside the establishment. The employee was not injured during the incident. The clerk was able to talk with police and give the following description.

The gunman was described as a black male wearing a red t-shirt with a design on the front. The suspect was also wearing dark colored shorts, brown boots and a ski type mask over his face. The male appeared to be 5’10 to 6’00 tall and approximately 180 pounds.

The suspect was seen leaving the store and going in a direction behind the store. Police searched the area but did not locate anyone in the area.

The police were able to view the store’s security video to try and identify the suspect. The video showed the male as he entered the store with a gun in his right hand. There has been no positive identification of the gunman at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing and the Palestine Police Department is asking that anyone with information concerning this or any other crime please call the Palestine Police Department at 903-729-2254 or Crime Stoppers  at 903-729-8477.
