PALESTINE, September 3, 2013--Palestine Police Department is seeking vendors for the 2nd annual National Night Out which will be held on Tuesday, October 1, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Regan Park.
The event, aimed at crime prevention, allows visitors to get to know other individuals and organizations in their community. “It’s kind of similar to a block party that you would do in your own residential area,” said Palestine Police Department Public Relations Officer Patsy Smith. “It’s trying to get the word out about crime prevention, how to protect your home, how to protect your kids…it’s mainly getting to know your community and coming together as one.”
The event will be free of charge to the public and will feature hot dogs, drinks, games, give-aways, lots of kids activities, emergency vehicles on display, helicopter display, and more.
For more information, call Officer Smith at 903-729-2254.
