PALESTINE, August 7, 2014—At approximately 5:45 a.m., The Palestine Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Blvd., in reference to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers observed two male subjects laying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. The victims reported that the offense occurred at a nearby residence. Officers were able to call out to the residents at the suspected location and were able to have them come out of the house without incident.
EMS responded to the scene and transported both victims to Palestine Regional Hospital. Both subjects were later transferred to Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler.
One male subject was arrested at the scene and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
