PALESTINE, March 20, 2013—Recently, the Palestine Municipal Court participated with over 320 jurisdictions statewide in the annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup. The Roundup targets defendants with warrants which range from misdemeanors to higher charges.
Defendants received notices in the mail with instructions regarding how to resolve their warrants.
According to Court Administrator Courtney Acklin, during the period of February 18 – March 10, the court cleared 138 warrants with a face value of $48,674.11, and collected $30,436.60. On March 4, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Marshal Harcrow and officers Carlson, January, Johnson, Kerr, and Lacey worked together to execute warrants throughout the city of Palestine. A total of 16 warrants were cleared with a face value of $5,130.03, and $3,289.13 was collected.
