Palestine ISD Update - 10-23-13

PALESTINE, October 23, 2013— Palestine ISD has recently received a Superior Achievement Award by the Texas Education Agency.

The Superior Achievement First rating is the highest financial integrity rating a school in Texas may receive.

“Obviously, we’re very happy with that rating,” said Palestine ISD Superintendent Jason Marshall. “But we’re also happy that we’ve been able to sustain that rating for several years now.”

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Superintendent Marshall about what it takes to receive such a rating, incoming achievement test scores, new school technology, current enrollment, the random drug testing program, school security measures, and the Band’s upcoming trip to Orlando.
