Palestine ISD Board named School Board of the Year

PALESTINE,  August 8, 2014—Palestine ISD School Board has been named Region 7 Education Service Center’s 2014 School Board of the Year.

The Board will be recognized at the Texas Association of School Administrators School Board Awards program later this year.

“This is quite an honor, not only for the Board itself but for the whole school district,” said Palestine ISD School Board President and Anderson County Assistant District Attorney Stanley Sokolowski. “Anytime you get honored like this, it’s not just you doing the work, but it requires the hard work of a lot of people in a lot of places to create these sorts of honors.”

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Sokolowski about the nomination process, the honor, and Palestine ISD’s progress and goals. Click below for more.
