Palestine DAV raises money to provide service dog to autistic toddler

PALESTINE, August 15, 2014— Disabled American Veterans Donation Center is holding a fundraiser in order to raise proceeds needed to provide a service animal to a local toddler.

Teagan is a 3 year-old girl and the daughter of two Air Force veterans in Palestine. She is autistic as well as facing other unique challenges. The DAV Donation Center has taken up the mission to get Teagan a specially trained dog. The dog was found and rescued from a pound, and specialized training began Thursday.

Anyone wishing to help may send tax-free donations to the DAV Donation Center at 2279 ACR 182, Elkhart, TX 75839. Donations should be marked ‘Teagan’.

All donations will go for Teagan’s dog and the specialized training. Donations exceeding the amount needed will go to Paws for PTSD, which is a dog training program to help veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
