PALESTINE, August 27, 2013-- The City of Palestine has named Greg Laudadio as its new Assistant Director of the Palestine Economic Development Corporation.
Laudadio, formerly the Assistant Finance Director and Customer Service Manager for the City of Palestine, brings a strong customer focus and business background to the PEDC. A Certified Public Manager and former Sr. Business Consultant, Laudadio will work with existing and new business projects for the City’s Economic Development Corporation.
The PEDC Assistant Director is under the general direction of the Economic Development Director. Recently, Wendy Ellis, PEDC Director, was named Interim City Manager for the City of Palestine which spread her responsibilities over these two areas. The PEDC Assistant Director is a newly created position intended to provide better coverage of existing projects and allow for more latitude to work on upcoming projects and future endeavors.
“Greg is going to be a great addition to our economic development team,” stated Ellis. “He brings a new perspective and energy to the group, and his efforts will be a key component of us managing this transitional time as well as preparing for a busier future.”
Laudadio has been a resident of Palestine since 2005. He relocated from the DFW area to assist with the start up of Capgemini Energy, an electric utilities company created to assist customers with billing and service related issues. He began work for the City of Palestine in 2010 as the Assistant Finance Director. Laudadio has been actively involved in the community through his participation with the Palestine Rotary Club and volunteering at Meals on Wheels.
“It was the PEDC that provided the incentive for Capgemini Energy to relocate its call center and revenue management operations to the Willow Creek Business Park back in 2005 that brought us to Palestine,” said Laudadio. “We have made so many wonderful friends here over the past eight years and feel like our contributions make a real difference. I’m extremely excited about the opportunity I have been given to serve my community in this new capacity.”
