PACARC to offer Amateur Radio class, licensing

PALESTINE, August 30, 2013--The Palestine Anderson County Amateur Radio Club will host a one-day Tech Class on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The class will be for the purpose of Amateur radio training and testing for F.C.C. issued license.

The training will take place at the Church of LDS on Loop 256, at N. Link Street, in Palestine.

The cost for the class is $15.00. Participants must register and pay for the class by Monday, September 16.

Amateur radio operators play a very important role in emergency situations. “That’s what HAM radio is all about – to provide health and welfare information and messages to folks to supplement those public safety systems that may have gone down,” said Palestine Amateur Radio Club’s Jeff Montgomery.
