One dead, one hospitalized after two-vehicle accident near Frankston

ANDERSON CO. January 3, 2014—UPDATE: KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with DPS Trooper Jean Dark with an update on the deadly accident near Frankston.

According to Trooper Dark, a semi-truck, driven by Gregory Dingher of Hammond, LA, was driving westbound on Hwy 175, when a 2002 Toyota Sequoia, driven by 41 year-old Angela Scott, of Palestine, crossed over from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with the semi-truck.

Dingher was transported to ETMC Athens. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

ANDERSON CO. January 3, 2014—At approximately 9:00 a.m., this morning, Anderson County Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a deadly accident on US Hwy 175, approximately 2 miles west of Frankston.

According to DPS Trooper Jean Dark, there were two vehicles involved in the accident. One person has been confirmed deceased, and one individual was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Athens, where the condition of the individual’s condition is currently unknown. Identities of the victims have not yet been released.
