NECHES, April 25, 2013—The Neches Heritage Day Festival will be held on Saturday, May 4, at the Neches Community Center, 341 FM 19.
The community will celebrate its 21st annual Festival with a parade, arts, crafts, music, food, and free kid’s games and snow cones.
The event kicks off with the Parade which will begin at 9:30 a.m., on FM 2574, at the Neches city limits. The Parade will travel through Neches and come to an end at the Marvin Skeen Community Center on Hwy 19. Decorated floats, cars and 2-wheeled vehicles are permitted. Prizes will be awarded for best floats. To register entry of a float or decorated vehicle, call Arlene at 903-584-3371.
The Festival will be held from 10:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at the Neches Community Center. Live music will be provided by Ponderosa.
Vendor booths are still available to rent. Arts and Craft booths may be rented for $10.00 per space, and food booths may be rented for $20.00 per space. For rental information call Carol at 903-584-3512.
There will also be a Cake Bake-Off. Cakes will be judged on appearance, presentation, and taste. To enter a cake in the event, call Penny at 903-584-0267.
