NACOGDOCHES, August 16, 2013--A sculpture of architect Diedrich Rulfs will be dedicated Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10:00 a.m., at 141 North Church St., on the corner of Hospital and Mound.
The bronze sculpture is a likeness of the German-born architect who designed most of Nacogdoches’ elegant historic homes from the late 1800s to 1926. The bronze sculpture shows Rulfs seated with a sketchbook creating a plan for the Roland Jones’ home he designed in 1897.
This is the seventh sculpture in the oldest town in Texas produced by the Friends of Historic Nacogdoches Inc. as part of the Heritage Walk that gives a pictorial tour of the leaders of Nacogdoches’ diverse history.
Everyone is invited to the dedication. For more information, please contact Jeff Abt, Friends of Historic Nacogdoches Inc., email@example.com or PO Box 630411, Nacogdoches, TX 75963 or www.fohninc.weebly.com.
