Monthly Cultural Diversity Gatherings to be held at Tyler Public Library

TYLER, January 18, 2014— The Tyler Public Library and Tyler Together Race Relations Forum have joined forces to celebrate diversity on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium to learn about diverse cultures—ethnic, religious and regional.

Each session will allow participants a chance to mingle with others from a host of different backgrounds and to learn something new about another culture.

“Tyler has a very rich, multicultural community and joining together to embrace our differences will help keep us strong and prosperous in a rapidly changing world,” said Access Librarian Lori Fregoso.

The January meeting will be held in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium on Jan. 21, at 5:30 p.m., It will focus on Civil Rights, featuring the short film “The Civil Rights Movement in America: Through the Lens of Photojournalist Flip Schulke.” It will be followed by a group discussion and light refreshments will be served.

This event is free.
