Minor accident at Palestine Municipal Airport calls for FAA investigation

PALESTINE, August 26, 2013--This afternoon, at approximately 12:00 p.m., a pilot reportedly came up short at the end of the runway, according to Airport Fixed Base Operator Gaylon Atkinson.

The pilot, who was flying a single engine plane, was reportedly having some engine trouble and declared an emergency. The issues caused him to be unable to make the runway.

No injuries were sustained during the incident, and only minor damage was reported. There were no passengers on board the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was contacted immediately, and agents were dispatched to investigate the incident.
