ALTO, April 20, 2014—Mission Tejas State Park has announced fun activities beginning in May. Additional activities will be updated as they are added.
Saturday, May 3: Fishing with a Ranger - Rangers will be at the pond from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon, to help with bait, tackle and fishing basics. Bait and tackle will be provided, some loaner poles are also available. The pond is stocked with catfish and trout – come catch these trout before it gets too hot for them. No license required. The fishing is free, but there is a $2.00 park entry fee for all 13 yrs and older.
Saturday, May 10: Archery - Learn the basics of archery. The class will cover proper safety and techniques. Equipment is provided. The class will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, next to the Headquarters Building. This event is free, but there is a $2.00 park entry fee for all 13 yrs and older.
