Man charged with Assault with Deadly weapon after domestic dispute on ACR 352

ANDERSON CO., August 28, 2014—On August 26, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on ACR-352, in regard to a domestic dispute.

When Deputies arrived, they found a visibly upset female who claimed her husband had assaulted her, put a gun to her head, and took her phone from her when she attempted to call 911.

The suspect, Douglas Eugene Whitten, age 56, was located in a field across the street from the residence. After initial investigation was complete, Whitten was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Interference with a 911 Call.

Whitten was held in the Anderson County Jail with bonds totaling $30,000. He has since bonded out.
