LONGVIEW, April 4, 2013— The Longview Metropolitan Planning Organization has scheduled a public meeting on Tuesday, April 9, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers located in the Jo Ann Metcalf Municipal Building, 300 W. Cotton St., to present the Fourth St. extension project and receive public comments.
The Fourth St. extension is a new four-lane road which will be constructed north of the existing Fourth St./Hawkins Parkway intersection and tie into U.S. 259. The Longview Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) will be revised to reflect this project. The Longview MTP is a transportation plan which identifies federal, state and locally funded highways, bridges and public transportation projects.
The public is invited to attend and will be given an opportunity to provide comments at the meeting. A 30-day public comment and review period for revisions to the MTP will be held from April 9 to May 8. Comments and questions may be sent to the Longview MPO, P.O.
