Lone Star USA to host four-day event to honor military personnel, families

BULLARD, October 6, 2013— Lone Star Military Resource Group works diligently to do everything possible to support and honor our military personnel and their families while assisting in curbing the epidemic of military suicide and deterioration of the military family. This is a grassroots effort to bring resources and education opportunities to our rural community.

As part of those efforts, Lone Star Military Resource Group is hosting a massive four-day event to honor all who have served, who are currently serving, their families and also our first responders. The Lone Star USA Celebration 2013 Event will be October 17-20, at the KE Bushman's event center grounds in Bullard, Texas.

The entire event is designed to honor and recognize our Nation’s veterans, first responders, fire, and police personnel as well as their families. The event will start with a motorcycle escort of the Traveling Freedom Tribute (http://www.avtt.org/) on 17 Oct, including several stops along the way.

Beginning Friday morning, area schools will have to opportunity to come and tour the displays, and take tours of the Vietnam Veterans Wall, Traveling Tribute and 9-11 Tribute.

Saturday, the day will kick off with opening ceremonies. There will be speakers throughout the day on farming, preserving history, and military benefits. There will be static displays of military and tactical equipment. A healthcare fair, the Vet Center Van, and Carter Blood Care Van will be present.

Also in the works are a 5K, golf tournaments, Poker run, Working dog demonstrations and Emergency preparedness information.

There will be vendors that offer support and resources to military and first responders and their families. The event will also feature local groups providing music and speakers on topics affecting the lives of military members and their families.

Delicious food will be available on-site and a field mess tent with a custom cowboy chief will be providing meals free of charge to veterans.

All branches and eras will be honored. All area Gold Star Families are invited and will serve as guests of honor.

On Sunday, there will be a Field Chapel Service followed by a picnic lunch on the grounds.

This is but a brief summary of this first of its kind event in East Texas. This event is free and open to the public.
