LC Powledge Biker Benefit to be held Oct. 26

PALESTINE, October 14, 2013--The 1st Annual LC Powledge Biker Benefit will be held Oct. 26, from 10:00 a.m. – Midnight.

This event will be in conjunction with the Hot Pepper Festival and will be located at the lot behind the 1st Presbyterian Church on E. Spring Street,. and Granberry Street, in Downtown Palestine.The event is hosted by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice L.C. Powledge Unit and is part of the State Employees Charitable Campaign.

Three Charities were selected to be recipients - Meals on Wheels, The Crisis Center for Anderson County and the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation. Each of these charities provides for assistance for those persons who are in need, and The Powledge Unit is proud to stand behind them in this event.

The Event will consist of a full day of activities such as:

A Morning Motorcycle Ride - Starts 10:00 a.m., at the event center and will go to Lookout Mountain in Jacksonville. This ride will return to the event center at approximately 12:00 p.m.

An Afternoon Motorcycle Ride - Starts at 1 p.m., and will go through the backwood roads to Ninivah, Buffalo, and will return to the event center at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Bike Show - No entry fee to enter and best bike in each category wins a prize. (Catagories: Custom, Stock, Bagger, Classic, Rat Rod)

A Trivia Motorcycle Run- 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Riders will visit local vendors and pick up a playing card. Best 5 card hand wins a prize.

Several Bike Games such as Slow ride and other Skilled "slow speed" competitions.

To add some diversity to the event for non Bike Enthusiasts, there will also be a Silent Auction featuring crafts and items made by TDCJ Offenders/Inmates, and several drawings for door prizes.

This will be a huge event. Everyone is invited to come by and enjoy this wonderful festivity for a great cause.
