Chamber announces annual award recipients
The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce ...
PALESTINE, April 19, 2017—Palestine and surrounding areas, this is your chance to help local seniors and at-risk children with your donations.
The Palestine Kiwanis Club will hold a hamburger fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at the Kiwanis Pavilion at Reagan Park. Patrons get a burger, chips, cookies and a drink for $7. Kiwanis are offering delivery service for those making orders for five or more lunches.
This will be the third year for the Kiwanis fundraiser. The past two years, donations went towards the completion of the Alex Patel Soccer Complex. This year, funds will support the Palestine YMCA’s “For a Better Us” scholarship fund.
The scholarship fund meets the Kiwanis’ goal to serve children in Anderson County. This scholarship is awarded to at-risk youth by extending opportunities through Y programs.
Order placement begins Monday, April 24, for pick-up or delivery by calling 903-729-3139.
Kiwanis are also selling raffle tickets for a Glock 42 pistol. Defiance Firearms provided the FFL transfer. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
