Kerens Cotton Harvest Festival slated for Oct. 19

KERENS, October 14, 2013—The 9th Annual Kerens Cotton Harvest Festival will be held Oct. 19, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., in Downtown Kerens.

Kerens, Birthplace of Big Tex, is located 14 miles east of Corsicana, approximately 60 miles from Dallas, Tyler, and Waco.

Festival activities include: Hot Air Balloons; Coyote Squadron Fly-Over; Chili Cook-off; Quilt Show; Antique Tractor Show and John Deer Equipment; Cotton Gin Tours; Trolley Rides; Horseshoe Pitching Competition; Heritage Craft Market and Cotton Museum; Carnival Thurs-Sat.; Cotton Row Run and Pancake Breakfast; Tractor Pull featuring 200 tractors; Classic Cars; 30 + Vintage Travel Trailer Tour; Mule Wagon Rides; Arts and Crafts; Food; Children’s Activities; Stick Horse Rodeo; Live Entertainment all day; and more.

There will also be a Street Dance on Saturday night, which will feature Ira Bradford & Bustin’ Loose. The Street Dance will begin at 8:00 p.m.
