Keep Tyler Beautiful to present Beauty and Business Award to The Genesis Group

TYLER, June 25, 2013-- As part of Keep Tyler Beautiful’s mission to encourage the ongoing beautification of Tyler, the board has selected The Genesis Group, a global software company, to be awarded the Beauty and Business Award.  The board will present a framed certificate and personalized Beauty and Business Award yard sign at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, June 26, at the GenCore Phirst building, located at 5800 Eagles Nest Blvd.

Members of Keep Tyler Beautiful, City of Tyler officials and representatives of the center, including Genesis CEO Phil Burks, Genesis President Jim Nipp, Steve Fitzpatrick, President of Fitzpatrick & Associates and LandVision President David Cordell are expected to attend.

“All of the people and companies that make up what we call ‘Genesis’ are extremely proud to have been selected for this honor,” said Burks. “It was our vision to help set the bar for a new type of commercial building in Tyler and East Texas. We are both proud and humbled with the outcome.”

The GenCore Phirst building is the first of several structures that will be constructed at Corporate Green at Eagles Nest, just off Paluxy Drive. Corporate Green, a vision of Phil and Bobbie Burks, is a location for companies that strive to be good stewards of Tyler’s natural resources. The 17,500 square foot Phirst building is home to The Genesis Group and 4:13 Center for Change, a Christ centered family counseling practice.

“The campus is beautiful and they have made every effort to make as little an impact on the environment as possible,” said Phyllis Carlyle Keep Tyler Beautiful Board chair. “We are glad to see more businesses looking toward sustainability as they develop their locations.”
