JACKSONVILLE, June 21, 2013--Jacksonville ISD Board of Directors has approved a measure to allow final terms to be negotiated on the sale of the old Joe Wright Elementary building.
According to Jacksonville ISD Superintendent Joe Wardell, the building will be sold to Hobby Lobby Realty, and will be used by Jacksonville College.
Superintendent Wardell says the Board was able to view the building as surplus, and believed a sale was in the best interest of the district. “We as a district, because of the age of the building – the limitations of the building – just felt it was the right thing to do,” said Superintendent Wardell.
Superintendent Wardell spoke with KYYK’s Gary Richards about the Board’s decision, as well as an update on the recently purchased Lon Morris facilities. Click below for more.
