Jacksonville Chamber Children's Back-to-School Fair slated August 1

JACKSONVILLE, June 30, 2013— You can help children and their families begin their school year in a positive way. The seventh annual Back-to-School Fair will be on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Norman Activity Center located at 526 E. Commerce Street, in Jacksonville. Doors will be open from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Exhibits to help families learn about health, sports, social and other activities for children in Jacksonville, will be open from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Your help is needed.  If you have used, but usable and clean, JSID standardized clothing, please bring them to “The Clothes Closet” located on South Main Street, across from the fire station, or call 903-586-0204.

Used JISD standardized dress clothing will be available and given away for free at the Back-to-School Fair on August 1.

Basic school supplies will be given away for free to students from Jacksonville, and door prize raffles will be held throughout the event.

Basic school supplies are also needed; notebook paper, crayons, spiral notebooks, pencils, folders with pockets and brads, fiskar scissors, white glue, glue sticks, pink erasers, pencil erasers and Kleenex are among the supplies needed.  Please bring them to the Chamber of Commerce at 526 East Commerce Street, or call 903-586-2217.
