Jack Elementary School to receive gift of 600 trees

TYLER, April 26, 2013-- Peltier Subaru will donate 600 trees to Jack Elementary School in celebration of Arbor Day. They will also present a $3,000 check to Mayor Barbara Bass, accepting on behalf of the City of Tyler, designated for planting trees around town.

The ceremony will be held in the Outdoor Classroom at Jack Elementary School this afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

There will be a tree mascot at the event to keep things exciting and interesting for the students. The potted trees will be given to students to keep; they may either keep them at school or take them home to plant in their own gardens.

An arborist with the City of Tyler will be on site to educate students in planting, preserving, and caring for their trees. Additionally, the school intends to use the plants for Science Club activities in their Outdoor Classroom.
