TYLER, August 1, 2014— The festivities and revelries of Paris will come to downtown Tyler on Saturday, Aug. 9 as Heart of Tyler hosts its seventh annual Black Tie Bingo Gala. The fundraiser has the theme of “Moulin Rouge” this year.
French-style cuisine, songs from Moulin Rouge and even the Can Can will be part of the surrounding entertainment, but the featured activity of the evening is four “high stakes” games of bingo. Game winners will receive prizes such as cooking classes, a downtown luxury pampering package and Texas Rangers tickets. The final prize will be a pair of Liberty Hall fall season passes.
The event is set for Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6:30 to 11 p.m., at the People’s Petroleum Building.
“We are so excited that the People’s Petroleum Building is hosting Black Tie Bingo this year,” said PR Chairman Anna Malone. “It is the most prominent, historic landmark in Downtown Tyler. Its Art Deco design and gold leaf enhancements lend a perfect backdrop for our Moulin Rouge theme.”
There will be a $25 chance drawing to select a prize that may be accompanied by an exquisite trois circle diamond pendant necklace from Elliott’s Jewelers. The prize is valued at $3,450. After all, everyone knows that “diamonds are a girl’s best friend!”
Major sponsors include Findlay Craft, PC, R.W. Fair Foundation, Garrett & Associates General Contractors, Regions Bank and Villa Montez.
Tickets are $100 per person, and all net proceeds go to support Heart of Tyler, Inc., which is the community’s only non-profit organization completely dedicated to downtown revitalization. Heart of Tyler also serves as an advisory board to the City of Tyler.
