Heart of Tyler set for Black Tie Bingo Gala

TYLER, August 3, 2013-- Bourbon Street will come to downtown Tyler on Saturday, Aug. 10, as Heart of Tyler hosts its sixth annual Black Tie Bingo gala. The fundraiser has the theme of “Bourbon Street Bingeaux” this year.

New Orleans-style cuisine, dueling pianos, silent auction and even a Tarot game will be part of the surrounding activities, but the featured activity of the evening are four games of bingo. Game winners will receive prizes such as a downtown luxury pampering package, a sports enthusiast package complete with Texas Rangers tickets and a romance package featuring a two-night hotel stay with Champagne, chocolates and candles. The final prize will be a private movie screening for 100 guests at Liberty Hall.

The event is set for 6:30 to 11 p.m., at 117 S. Broadway.

A “Baubles and Beads” game sponsored by Elliott’s Jewelers will allow participants to make a contribution to Heart of Tyler and then select a box containing a pearl bracelet. Another game will allow those who donate $25 a chance to select a prize that may be accompanied by a white gold and diamond drop pendant with chain from Elliott’s Jewelers. The prize is valued at $3,800.

“Elliott’s Jewelers has been such a generous supporter of Black Tie Bingo for years,” said event Chairman Ingrid Young. “He continues to enthusiastically support our event with great ideas and donations. “Without him,” Young said, “Black Tie Bingo just would not have as much sparkle – and we mean that in every way!”

Tickets are $100 per person, and all net proceeds go to support Heart of Tyler, Inc., which is the community’s only non-profit organization completely dedicated to downtown revitalization.
