Good Morning Texas to broadcast live from Athens City Hall

ATHENS, April 22, 2014—Good Morning Texas, a live weekday broadcast which airs on WFFA-TV Ch. 8, will broadcast live from the Athens City Hall on Wednesday, April 23. The public is invited to come and be a part of the broadcast.

Breakfast will be provided by McDonalds beginning at 7:30 a.m. Good Morning Texas crews are expected to arrive between 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. The show will be live from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Free hamburgers will be provided by Republic Services. Mayor Jerry Don Vaught will be the spokesperson for the event, and entertainment will be provided by the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinal Regiment Drum Line.

“We’re excited about this opportunity. We’re excited to get to show off Athens and all that it has to offer,” said Athens Director of Tourism Sherri Skeeters. “We just look forward to people coming out and showing their support and helping us celebrate Athens.”
