Game Wardens recover body of Houston Co. man lost in Neches River

HOUSTON CO., March 17, 2014—A Houston County man is being mourned after falling into the Neches River. 45 Year-old Jimmy Berry, of East Houston County was reportedly hunting hogs on Saturday afternoon, when he went missing. A witness reported the man had fallen into the river.

A search was conducted on Saturday afternoon by Sheriff’s Deputies, volunteers and family. On Sunday, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens launched boats near Anderson Crossing and searched the area where Berry was reported to have been seen last.

Berry’s body was recovered by Game Wardens at approximately 12:45 p.m., on Sunday.
