GALLATIN, April 5, 2013-- Gallatin area citizens will host the ninth annual Gallatin GopherFest Saturday, April 13, at the community center grounds.
Activities planned for the fair-like all day event will include arts and crafts, barbecue and chili cookoffs, horseshoe and washer tournaments. A Bouncehouse will be available for children. Barbecue will be offered for sale by the Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department. Musical entertainment will be provided by "Sugar Mountain," Ian Chandler, Flowers and Akin and other groups.
GopherFest attendees will participate in cake walks and a live auction. Raffles will be conducted for baskets of goodies and other items. All proceeds will be donated to the Gallatin Community Center for its maintenance and upkeep. Future projects include picnic tables, new flooring in the kitchen, main room and updating the building itself.
The 2013 Commemorative Gallatin GopherFest T-Shirts will be on sale for $10. Call 936.537.2448 to pre-order before April 13.
Booths for the event are $25 each. All food items have to be cleared with Cherokee County Health Dept. prior to sale. Booth registration should be made with vendor registration for the City of Gallatin, P.O.
