Fugitives arrested for coin-op machine thefts

TYLER, OCT. 15, 2013––Tyler Police and East Texas Law Enforcement Agencies now have in custody a couple wanted for the alleged burglary of coin-operated machines east Texas.

Police agencies continue investigating numerous reports of burglary of coin-operated machines in hotels in their jurisdictions. The suspects have been identified as Michael Robert Ward, and Tracy Lynn Mallewick. They had been driving a 2002 Mercury Cougar with Texas license number BM2-M786.

Several warrants had been issued for their arrest in connection to these burglaries and Tyler police believed they struck again  as late as Monday night at the Holiday Inn Express on W. Gentry in Tyler.

Both Ward and Mallewick are now in custody.
