Five High School Choir students take spots in Region Choir

JACKSONVILLE, October 22, 2013-- Sixteen JHS Choir students traveled to Whitehouse High School last Saturday, to compete for positions in the All-Region Choir. Five students earned a spot in the choir and will advance to the Pre-Area audition in November.

The All- Region Choir concert is scheduled for November 16, at the UT Tyler Cowan Center.

The winning students include Seniors- Kennison Chambless, Ruby Moya, and Andrew Rock; and Juniors Samantha Hammock and Alysia White. This is the first step in advancing to the Texas All-State Choir. If the students continue to work hard, they each have the opportunity to make the All-State Choir.

The Jacksonville High School Choir is directed by Tiffany Hammock and assisted by Erin Blankenship, Middle School choir director.

All the JHS choirs will present their annual Fall Concert in the JHS Auditorium this coming Monday evening, October 21, at 6:30 p.m., in the JHS auditorium. The annual Christmas Concert will be December 9, in the JHS Auditorium. Admission is free and all the community is invited.
