ATHENS, October 16, 2013-- It’s that time of year again when antlers grow, necks swell, birds fly, turkeys strut and outdoorsmen get into action. To add to the excitement of the season the Fall Hunters Rendezvous is here and its going to be bigger and better than ever.
The Rendezvous will be held at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center on Tuesday, October 22. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free. The Henderson County Wildlife Committee is however, selling raffle tickets for a Remington 81049 Versa Max Semi- Automatic 12 Ga or a Remington 7007 700 CDL Bolt 243 Winchester. Tickets are $10 each, 5 for $40.00, 10 for $75.00 or 13 for $100.00 or you can buy a bundle for $25.00 (T-shirt, Koozie, meal ticket and gun raffle ticket) and can be purchased from any Henderson County Wildlife Committee member, County Extension Office or at the door.
Chili and all the fixins will be available for a $5.00 donation from 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.
Speakers and topics include: Dr. Billy Higginbotham - Bigger & Better Doe; Jason Hardin, Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. - Turkeys in Texas; Lee Tackett - Wildlife Management on Small Acreage; Texas Parks & Wildlife Dept. - Results of Antler Restrictions.
