Eustace teen dies as a result of water-related injury at Cedar Creek Reservoir

HENDERSON CO., July 28, 2014— A Eustace teen has died as a result of a water-related injury, according to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Captain Bryan Tower.

According to Captain Tower, Deputies were called to Cedar Creek Reservoir on Thursday, July 24, at approximately 5:05 p.m., in regard to a young man having trouble breathing.

When Deputies arrived, they learned the teen had jumped from a boat dock into the water and was struggling to breathe. The boy was transported by EMS to a hospital in Gun Barrel City, and then transferred to a hospital in Tyler where he later died.

The exact cause of death is unknown.
