The City of Palestine has announced ...
ELKHART, July 7, 2013--The City of Elkhart is currently attempting to raise funds for the creation of a City Park on 290 West, by the baseball fields. In addition to the grant, provided by Union Pacific Railroad, several fundraisers have been planned for this purpose.
According to Elkhart City Secretary Donna Surber, only $12,000 of the projected $100,000 goal has been raised thus far. “We still have a couple of grants to apply for, so hopefully within the next year or so we will see a huge progress down there.”
Upcoming fundraisers include a Schwan’s Food Sale on Friday, July 12, in front of the City Office. Schwan’s will donate a portion of total proceeds to the City Park fund.
On July 20, Applebee’s will hold a Pancake Sale from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tickets are available at the City Office for $6.00 each. A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit the City Park fund.
