The City of Palestine has announced ...
ELKHART, November 1, 2013—At a recent Elkhart School Board meeting, the Board made the final decision to hire J.E. Kingham Construction of Nacogdoches, for the district’s upcoming construction projects.
“We’re pleased that they’re on board,” said Elkhart Superintendent Dr. Ray DeSpain. “They’re a quality outfit and also offered us the best proposal, price-wise, for the new project.”
The construction projects include new storm drainage, burying overhead power lines, a new, 138 vehicle parking lot, a new bus drive with canopy covering, and a new electronic marquee. Total cost for the project is projected to be between $800,000 - $900,000.
According to Dr. DeSpain, funds for the project will come from existing savings and Elkhart residents will not see a tax increase.
Groundbreaking for the project is expected to take place on November 25, and the constructions should take approximately five to six months to complete.
