CROCKETT, April 2, 2014— Cornerstone Programs began operation in the new Davy Crockett Regional Juvenile Facility as of Tuesday, April 1.
According to Crockett Economic Development Corporation Director Tom Lambert, the facility is a boost to the city and county economy. The facility occupies the former location of the Crockett State School. The State School’s closure resulted in a loss of over 200 jobs, and Lambert says they are thrilled to have the new tenant. Currently, the facility has created 35 – 40 jobs, but is expected to create around 100 jobs when fully expanded and operational.
“It’s a great boom for the community; We’re very proud of it,” said Lambert. “We’re hoping it will continue to go well.”
KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Lambert about the new facility and its effect on the community. Click below for more.
