Crockett Police arrest disorderly guest at Whitehall Nursing Center

CROCKETT, July 3, 2014— On Tuesday, Officers with the Crockett Police Department were dispatched to Whitehall Nursing Center in the 1100 Block of East Loop 304, in reference to an unwanted guest.

Officers arrived on scene and were told by nursing home staff that a female, later identified as Joycelyn Alexander, age 52, of Houston, had come into the nursing home looking for a friend. Staff told officers that Alexander was very belligerent and aggressive toward staff at the facility.

When officers made contact with Alexander, she continued her aggression and would not comply with orders from the officers. Alexander was isolated to a single room and officers attempted to arrest Alexander. It was at that time that she became assaultive towards officers and began kicking, spitting and swinging at officers that were trying to make the arrest. Alexander spit at staff members and officers. Two Crockett Police Officers were struck in the face with saliva from Alexander spitting at them, and a nursing home employee was also struck in the face with saliva.

Additional officers were requested and after some time Alexander was taken into custody. Alexander showed signs of being under the influence of PCP and other illegal substances which was later confirmed. Alexander was medically cleared and transported to the Houston County Jail where she was booked and confined.

Alexander has been charged with Disorderly Conduct (Class C), Criminal Trespass (Class B), and 2 counts of Harassment of Public Servant (3rd Degree Felony).
