Crockett man arrested after burglary in progress call

CROCKETT, May 1, 2014— On Friday April 25, 2014 Officers with the Crockett Police Department were dispatched to the 700 Block of Spring Street, in reference to a burglary in progress.

Officers met with the witness who told Officers that he heard windows breaking and then witnessed a male subject exiting a window from a residence. The witness followed the subject for a short time and was able to get a good physical and clothing description which he relayed to officers.

Officers made contact with Alex Epps, age 22, of Crockett, who matched the description given by the witnesses. Both witnesses in this case positively identified Epps as being the subject exiting the residence.

Epps was arrested and transported to the Houston County Jail where he was booked and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a 2nd Degree Felony.

Epps has been a suspect in at least thirteen cases over the last twelve months. The Crockett Police Department would like to thank the concerned citizens that called in to report this activity.
