Commissioner's Court signs enterprise zone order

ANDERSON CO., July 15, 2013--The Commissioner’s Court recently signed an order to have an enterprise zone formed in order to pave the way for Apex to file a request for a tax abatement in connection to the company’s compressed air facility. The multi-million dollar facility will be located in the northern part of Anderson County.

According to Anderson County Judge Robert Johnston, the company is working through the paper-work side of things in order to prepare for construction. “I’m hoping that we have construction started by the end of 2013,” said Judge Johnston. “It’s all according to how the permit process goes and what the Comptroller does.”

The company, according to Judge Johnston, is still awaiting permit approval by the Environmental Protection Agency.
