CHEROKEE CO., April 17, 2013--KYYK’s Gary Richards speaks with Cherokee County District Attorney Rachel Patton about two important events related to Cherokee County cases.
District Attorney Patton discusses the scheduled execution of Richard Aaron Cobb. Cobb was sentenced to die for his participation in an aggravated robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder which occurred in 2002. The other man convicted in the case, Beunka Adams, was also sentenced to die, and his execution was carried out on April 24, 2012. Cobb’s execution date has been set for April 25, 2013, sometime after 6:00 p.m.
District Attorney Patton also discusses the pending trial of Jimmy Deshawn Mosley. Mosley was indicted on Capital Murder charges for his participation in an altercation at a nightclub which resulted in the shooting death of community leader Stacy Hunter.
