PALESTINE, April 23, 2013--On Saturday, April 27, 2013, Anderson County Champions for Children will present their annual Live Radio Dinner Theater. The original radio program, “The War of the Hoses” by Gregg Ellis, will be performed live on stage and live on KNET 1450 AM/95.7 FM radio, and via the KNET stream at http://www.youreasttexas.com (Click on the KNET tab button in the upper right corner).
Food service begins at 6:00 p.m., and the radio show goes live from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
The story is that of Ed, a socially awkward engineer with a problem- his dogs likes to snack on hoses. This comedy also features his two neighbors who sometimes help- sometimes hinder Ed’s winning of the war. The show is performed by Gerry Goodwin (la Quinta), Olivia Santone (the Switch), John Lamb (PISD), and narrated by Gage Concillio (unemployed-age 9). Music is provided by the marvelous Kevin Guinn. Tickets can be purchased online at http://andersoncountychampions.com or by calling 903-723-5567.
The money raised from ticket sales and advertising will be used entirely to fund the work of the Anderson County Champions for Children, a non-profit group dedicated to supporting and improving early childhood development and daycare in the Palestine / Anderson County area. They provide training, education, and resources for childcare workers and parents of young children to promote better growth, safety, and learning. 100% of the money raised goes toward that cause.
The 2nd annual event will be held in the Meals on Wheels building at the intersection of Church and Spring streets (200 N. Church) in Palestine, Texas. Tickets are $25 per person and $40 per couple, but if you purchase a table for eight you also get three 30-second ads included for your donation. If you want an advertisement for your business or organization, they will be performed live on the air three times, at the beginning, middle, and end of the program. For more information on tickets or advertising call 903-723-5567 or email email@example.com.
